Our philosophy…
The Wright Leadership Institute is a personal growth and business excellence company focused on helping individuals achieve their highest potential. We apply this not only to our students, corporate consulting clients, work environment, and leadership groups, but also to our internships.
We believe that an internship is applied learning, an opportunity for you to gain hands-on experience in the fields you have been studying. Because we are a small business, our internships give you practical experience in your field of interest, as well as an opportunity to experience a wide range of careers and specializations. All interns will be expected to complete some general administrative work.
What we have to offer…
The Wright Leadership Institute is comprised of approximately 16 full-time employees, whose fields range from lifestyle and executive coaching, internet marketing, public speaking, audio/visual media, to writing and PR. Small but mighty, we produce what a large company can in a fraction of the time. As an intern at the Wright Leadership Institute, you can expect to learn to hone your talents and time-management skills to where you are performing at a level you never thought you could achieve.
In addition to our dynamic staff, we also have an impressive student body, whose fields cover a multitude of interests: consulting, marketing, media, design, writing, editing, IT, finance, publishing, and more. Our students are at the top of their game, and are very involved with the mentoring of our interns.
Structure…
Project—We attempt to give each intern an exciting and challenging project for which they are primarily responsible. Throughout the course of the internship, the intern will develop and work on this project with supervision and mentoring, ultimately producing a resume or portfolio item for the student to use in future job interviews.
Consultants—We attempt to make outside consultants available whenever possible when we don’t have the internal expertise to help interns with their projects.
Mentorship—Each intern has a half-hour a week of mentorship. A member of the staff or student body meets with the intern to discuss what he’s learning and thinking, and explore the implications of what he is doing.
Additional Opportunities …
Courses and Seminars—Interns have the opportunity to attend courses and seminars at the Wright Leadership Institute, either for free or for a reduced fee.
Staff Meetings—If appropriate, interns attend various staff meetings, gaining insight into the workings of a small, high-producing business.
Future Employment—Outstanding interns who demonstrate a genuine interested in their field as it applies to the Wright Leadership Institute, produce a top-notch project, and generally contribute to the benefit of the company will be considered for full-time employment.
Requirements…
Hours—Interns are expected to work at least 24-40 hours a week.
Duration—Internships begin at four months, with a possibility of extension.
Final Presentation—At the conclusion of the internship, interns are required to write an essay of what they have learned and how they have grown, as well as present their project.
Compensation…
We offer a small number of paid internships, as well as unpaid internships for course credit or experience. Compensation to be determined at interview.
